Cable Throttle Conversion

Parts and Information:

The 1999 C2 came as drive by cable. The drive by cable system must be converted using a potentiometer from a drive by wire 996.

Renn27 Parts: rennDME, cable throttle bracket

Instructions:

1. Route the throttle cable inside the car using the port hole located beneath the rear relay bracket in the backseat. You may have to slightly trim the round part of the plastic surrounding the clip section. We found that when the round section is trimmed to match the rectangular clip part it will fit through the port hole and still retain all functionality. 

2. Remove the rear drivers side seatbelt bracket, the potentiometer bracket bolts in place of the drivers side rear seatbelt. This location allows it to fits entirely behind the trim and cannot be seen but the rear drivers side seatbelt cannot be retained.

3. Install the potentiometer into the bracket using the two bolts. Install the cable throttle through the rectangular hole on the bracket clipping it in place. Reference the installation photos (side view) for correct orientations.

4. Route the 6 potentiometer leads to the rennDME following the existing in car wiring, insert them into their respective terminal labeled on the rennDME.
