Installation - Power Steering

Gather the following:

Renn27 supplied:

User supplied equipment:

Install the M96 power steering pump on the 2.7t engine.
Install the 2.7t power steering pulley on the M96 pump.
Remove the 90 deg. aluminum suction elbow from the 2.7t pump and transfer it to the M96 pump. It is pressed in with a sealing o-ring. It is best to use pliers to rotate back and forth while pulling. An aerosol penetrant will aid in removal.
Install the 2.7t power steering suction elbow hose. The suction side of the pump should be routed the same as a factory 2.7t.
Install the hydraulic lines in the engine bay.

Identify pressure and return lines on the back of the car. Return is the left side, and pressure is on the right.
Take the pressure line and carefully bend into a "J" shape using line straighteners or a vice so it goes around the throttle body. Be careful to not to kink the line.
The PS return line from the Porsche will be re-used to go to the reservoir provided from Renn27.
Bend the Oil dipstick tube roughly 1.5" forward to clear the PS line and allow easier access

Attach the power steering hoses to the power steering reservouir as shown. Do not clamp them in place yet as they may need slight trimming.

Attach the power steering bracket to the Porsche engine mounting plate using supplied hardware. Re-use the existing holes on the plate which contained the M96 O2 sensor connectors.

Mount the reservoir and hoses to the power steering bracket using the supplied t-bolt clamp.
Route the suction line to the port on the 2.7t engine.
Assess the chassis side return line and the reservoir hose return. These need to be joined together. Some trimming will be necessary on the pressure line and hose to achieve an optimized fit.
Crimp all lines when complete
Fill the system with Pentosin CHF 202 or 11S fluid.
